Bomb attack at Imkong residence
Kohima, Mar 6 (UNI) Unidentified men hurled a powerful bomb at Congress Legislature Party leader I Imkong last night, official sources said today.
However, there was no casualty or damage to property.
Two men reportedly came in a car and hurled the bomb inside the campus at around 2100 hrs. The security guards posted at the house tried to apprehend the accused and fired several rounds, but they managed to escape.
Mr Imkong was returning home at Sangtemla Ward of Mokokchung town from his Jangpetkong Assembly Constituency when the incident occurred.
Commenting on the bomb attack, Mr Imkong said, ''it was perpetrated by desperate people.'' Police were yet to confirm the type of the bomb used and motive behind the attack.
The investigation was on, the police added.
