12 policemen suspended for not nailing wanted criminal

Siddharthnagar, Mar 6 (UNI) Almost 12 policemen were suspended for not being able to arrest a criminal who had recently escaped from police custody.

On February 27, police had detained Izhar Ahmad in connection with a robbery in Barni town.

Hoodwinking the cops, Ahmad escaped from the custody.

Twelve police personnel, including Barni chowki in charge Brijesh Yadav, were suspended late last night with immediate effect.

Investigations were underway.
