Veteren freedom fighter Shivrat Sharma passes away

Jaunpur, Mar 5 (UNI) Veteran freedom fighter Shivrat Sharma died after a prolonged illness in Noida.

He was 90.

Influenced by Mahatma Gandhi, the nonagenarian had participated in the 1942 Quit India Movement and was imprisoned for eight months.

Sharma was a native of Kerakat town in Jaunpur and had been living in Noida for the last few years.

His mortal remains were consigned to flames with full state honours in Noida yesterday.
