UP govt hikes rail coupons to state legislators by Rs 50,000

Lucknow, Mar 5 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati today announced to hike the yearly allotment of railway coupons for the state legislators by Rs 50,000.

Now, the legislators of both the houses of the state legislature could avail railway coupons worth Rs two lakh per year from the existing Rs 1.5 lakh.

Ms Mayawati, announcing this in the state Assembly, said her government had decided to hike the amount of the rail coupon after it was demanded by the legislators on different occasions.

She said a bill would be introduced in the Assembly to amend the Act after increasing the annual rail coupon for the legislators.
