Shramjivi blast: non-bailable warrant against witness
Jaunpur, Mar 5 (UNI) A terrorist accused in the Patna-New Delhi Shramjivi Express bomb blast case appeared before a local court amid tight security today, even as a non-bailable warrant was issued against a witness for being absent.
The July 28, 2005 blast near Halpalganj-Singramau railway station in the district had killed at least 14 people and seriously wounded 90 others.
Accused Alamgeer alias Mohd Roni -- presently lodged in Tihar Prison, New Delhi -- was produced before Additional District and Sessions Judge (III) Rajendra Chandra under tight security.
However, witnesses Rajesh Kumar and Ram Balak Sahani remained absent during the court proceedings.
The court has issued non-bailable warrant against Rajesh Kumar to present self on March 11.
Meanwhile, the police custody of the accused has been extended till the next hearing.
