Rupee opens flat at 40.30/32 per USD

Mumbai, Mar 5: The Rupee today opened almost flat at 40.30/32 against the US Dollar from its previous close of 40.31/32 per dollar in a fairly active Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) market.

After resuming the day on flat note, the partially convertible Indian currency moved in a range band between 40.24 and 40.36 per dollar tracking the movements in the local equity market, dealers said.

The forex market witnessed a mixed bout of buying and selling of dollars in the mid-morning trade, dealers added.

Dealers also expect that the local unit will follow the trends in the equity market in the future session.
