Revise school curricula to reduce burden on students: LS

New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Lok Sabha Speaker Somnath Chatterjee today said the entire House shared the sentiments of Mr Sandeep Dikshit (Cong), who sought revision of school curricula to prevent psychological problems and suicidal tendencies among students during tenth and twelfth Board examinations.

''My grand daughter is appearing for the 10th exams and the whole household is tense,'' Mr Chatterjee said and remarked that the entire House, including the chair, was associating with Mr Dikshit.

Raising the issue during Zero Hour, the member, son of Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, said students were afraid of exams.

NCERT should be asked to revise the curricula to lessen the burden on students.

Students were losing their childhood as the focus was restricted to studies, leaving little time for sports and other extra curricular activities, he said.
