Rare books,palm leaf manuscripts on Siddha, Ayurveda collected
Tirupati, Mar 5 (UNI) Indian Institute of History of Medicine (IIHM) Director Ala Narayana today said as many as 200 rare books and 12 huge bundles of palm leaf manuscripts were collected from the individuals during the two-day workshop on manuscripts of Ayurveda and Siddha which concluded here today.
Talking to UNI, he said the rare books and palm leaf manuscripts were collected from six individuals on payment of a nominal price by the institute.
Another 200 rare books and manuscripts had also been identified and will be collected only after the price was fixed by the evaluation committee headed by Dr Vaidya Bhagwandash.
They would be preserved at the National Repository of Medical Manuscripts at Hyderabad by the institute.
The next national-level workshop on Ayurveda and Siddha will be held at New Delhi at a date yet to be decided, he added.
