Palm oil, red gram at subsidised rates in AP
Hyderabad, Mar 5 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today announced that palm oil and red gram would be supplied to 1.80 crore white ration card holders at subsidised rates in the state from May.
Making a statement in the Assembly, he said while palm oil would be distributed through the Public Distribution System (PDS) outlets at Rs 60 per litre to those Below the Poverty Line as against Rs 68 in the open market, red gram would be supplied at Rs 35 per kg as against Rs 40 per kg in the open market.
The decision would cost the state exchequer Rs 289 crore per annum, he added.
