Nagaland polling ends amid minor EVM snatching; 85% turnout

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) More than 85 per cent turnout of nearly 1.3 million electorate was witnessed in the polling to the 60-member Nagaland Assembly today, an Election Commission spokesperson said here.

Barring some minor incidents of Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) snatching by miscreants, the polling in the rest of the State was peaceful, he said.

The Commission has asked for detailed reports from the Returning Officers (ROs) and a final decison in respect of the repoll would be taken thereafter, the spokesperson added.

In all 218 candidates, including four women candidates, are in the fray for the elections.
