LeT terror suspect remanded
Hyderabad, Mar 5 (UNI) A local court today remanded a suspect in the one of the August 25 twin blasts in the city in judicial custody for 14 days.
I Metropolitan Magistrate remanded Ziyauddin Nasir (22) to judicial custody till March 18. He was brought to the city by special teams from Bangalore for investigations into the blast case.
Nasir was arrested by the Davangere Police recently on charges of vehicle theft. It was later found he had links with Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) and was trained in fabricating explosive devices in Pakistan.
After his training, Nasir, a native of this city, had sneaked into India through the Bangladesh Border.
Nasir was also associated with the Harkat-ul-Jihad-i-Islami (HuJI) Operative Mohammad Abdul Shahid alias Bilal of Hyderabad who reportedly masterminded the explosions at the Lumbini Park and Gokul Chats on August 25 which claimed 40 lives and left over 100 injured.
The special teams brought Nasir to the city to interrogate him in connection with the blasts after taking permission from the Bangalore police on transit warrant.
