Four-day Regional Art Camp ends

Jamshedpur, Mar 5 (UNI) The four-day Regional Art in Industry Camp, organised by Tata Steel on the occasion of the Founder's Day celebrations, ended today.

Altoghether 19 artists, primarily from the Eastern states, produced memorable creations in the art camp which was inaugurated by Dr J J Irani, former Managing Director of Tata Steel, on March 2.

Eminent artists with distinctive styles of their own from West Bengal and Bihar, artists from Jharkhand, specialising in tribal art forms depicting rural and tribal life-styles, participated in the camp.

Partha Pratim Deb's creation in mixed media, Brotin Khan's Temera on canvas, Sashikant Sahoo's ''Patta'' on raw silk, Manash Jena's canvas showing the spiritual nature of man, Ranadip Mukherjee's serene Buddhas and Narendranath Mohanty's lifelike wood carving were some of the instances of the creative effort of the artists.

A rich collection of almost 90 paintings and sculptures would be a part of the exhibition-cum-sale at the Beldih Club here tomorrow.
