Deora leaves on two day visit to Venezuela

New Delhi, Mar 5 (UNI) Petroleum and Natural Gas Minister Murli Deora will visit Venezuela on March 7-8 on an invitation from his counterpart Rafael Ramirez Carreno (Government of Venezuela).

Mr Deora will visit accompanied by Secretary (Petroleum&Natural Gas) M S Srinivasan, CMD (Oil and Natural Gas Corporation-ONGC) R S Sharma and MD (ONGC Videsh Limited- OVL) R S Butola.

During his visit a joint venture agreement between the national oil company of Venezuela, PDVSA and ONGC is scheduled to be signed on March 8, 2008 at Caracas.

The proposed agreement comes in the wake of a hydrocarbon cooperation agreement signed between the Government of India and the Government of Venezuela on March 5, 2005 during the visit of the President of Venezuela.
