CLP leader charges BJP Government with ''misleading people''

Shimla, Mar 5 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Congress Legislature Leader Vidya Stokes today charged the BJP government with ''misleading the people'' by claiming its stake on the supplementary budget for the year 2007-08.

Addressing mediapersons in HP Vidhan Sabha complex, Ms Stokes said it was a Congress budget and there was provision of Rs 100 crore to meet with additional expenses.

She said due to early elections, the last Congress government could spend only Rs 70 crore and after the change of regime, the Congress was not responsible for providing the supplementary demands.

''Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal is wrongly charging the previous regime with not providing sufficient funds for the cause of common people,'' Ms Stokes said.

She said during its regime, the Congress had provided Rs 134 crore for the subsidy to meet the increasing tariff of domestic electricity in the state.

She also claimed that the PDS system was being ignored and there was scarcity of LPG gas cylinders and Kerosene oil in the state. She said the common man was further burdened by Bus fare hike.

She threatened to lodge a block-level agitation for the cause of the commonman, if the state government did not reverse the fare hike.
