19-year-old collegian kidnapped, rescued
Mumbai, Mar 5 (UNI) A 19-year-old college student, who was allegedly kidnapped by her fiancee and two of his associates this afternoon from MNK college, Bandra, was rescued within two hours by the city police.
The culprits were arrested at the Dahisar Check Naka in the western suburb, police said.
The girl's brother had come to pick her up at the examination centre at MNK college. When he went to the parking lot to get his bike, three people -- Nasir Ahmed Khan (22), the girl's fiancee, and his two associates, Shaif Ali Batliwala (21) and Hussain Qureshi (22), picked her up and fled in a car towards the western express highway, police stated.
The police sent a wireless message as soon as they were reported about the incident, resulting in the arrest of all the accused at the Dahisar Check Naka.
Two of the accused reside in the same building as the girl, according to the police.
Police Commissioner Hasan Gafoor has appreciated the alertness shown by the Dahisar police team in handling the case.
''We will give a reward to the whole team, who have nabbed the culprits,'' he said.
