18 get lifer for murder in MP

Ratlam, MP, Mar 5 (UNI) The District and Sessions Court today awarded life imprisonment to 18 people convicted of murdering a farmer following festering enmity.

According to prosecution, Gareda village-resident Bhanwar Singh was en route to a farm with friends on the night of March 8, 2007 when he was surrounded and stabbed.

Judge Rajeev Bhatjiwale handed down the sentence to Kalu Singh, Shravan Singh, Dashrath Singh, Bahadur Singh, Man Singh, Nahar Singh, Goverdhan Singh, Ram Singh, Gokul Singh, Badri Singh, Jujhar Singh, Mangu Singh, Man Singh, Chen Singh, Radhu Singh, Bhagwan Singh, Anar Singh and Shankar Singh who were also fined Rs 2,000 each.
