Rahul to visit Orissa from Mar 7-10: Moily
New Delhi, Mar 4 (UNI) Mr Rahul Gandhi, AICC General Secretary, will visit Orissa for four days from March 7 to re-energise the youth wing of the party and make it a ''platform of choice'' for every youngster.
''The objective of the tour is to reach out to and begin a conversation with people from a cross-section of Orissa's society,'' CWC member M Veerappa Moily said in a statement.
The tour would cover several districts and include events with youth, students, tribals, farmers and party workers, he said.
Mr Gandhi's primary message to the youth would be ''vision for open, reenergised and meritocratic Indian Youth Congress, which will be the platform of choice for every young Indian seeking to serve the nation,'' Mr Moily said.
Party sources said his Orissa visit would mark the launch of his all India tour to strengthen the party ahead of the next Lok Sabha elections which were expected to be advanced. Even the Left parties had talked of early polls after the presentation of the please-all Budget by Finance Minister P Chidambaram.
