Masked youth decamps with cash from pharmacy

Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) Two masked youth, riding on a motorcyle barged into a pharmacy at suburban Adambakkam in Brindavan nagar and decamped with a cash of Rs 23,500 from the outlet last night.

According to police, the duo aged around 25 years, weilding knives entered the medical shop of Apollo pharmacy at 0030 hrs.

They closed the shutter and took away the amount at the point of knife from the two duty staffs.

The youth also took insect pesticides sprays from the shelf and splashed them on the face of two staff Selvaraj (35) and Tirumalai (27), following which they swooned.

Later, the duo downed the shutter and sped away in the motorcycle.

The staff, after regaining consiousness opened the shutter and lodged a complaint with the police.

A hunt was on to nab them, police said.
