Bill on railway land acquisition introduced in LS
New Delhi, Mar 3 (UNI) Railway Minister Lalu Prasad today introduced in the Lok Sabha a Bill that would empower the Centre to acquire land on ''fast track'' for special railway projects without affecting the interest of the land owners.
The Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2008 seeks to replace a related ordinance.
The proposed law would be on the lines of the provisions available in the National Highways Act, 1956.
