AIADMK to observe fast on HPF close issue tomorrow

Chennai, Mar 4 (UNI) The Opposition AIADMK will observe a day-long fast in Udhagamandalam tomorrow to condemn the proposed move of the Central and State governments to close down the sick Hindustan Photo Films (HPF).

In a statement here today, AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa alleged that despite several agitations demanding the revival of the prestigious HPF, the Centre and the State did not take any adequate steps.

''Instead there are now moves to close down the unit,'' she said and condemned the anti-labour policies of the governments.

The fast would be held in front of the HPF unit at Udhagamandalam and the party office-bearers of the Nilgiris district would participate in it, she added.
