Uttarakhand Assembly session marred by protests;adjourned
Dehra Dun, March 3 (UNI) The Uttarakhand Vidhan Sabha proceedings were today marred by protests and sloganeering by the Opposition Congress during the Governor's address on the opening day of the Budget session here.
As soon as Governor B L Joshi started reading his address, Opposition Congress MLAs were on their feet raising slogans demanding the resignation of Chief Minister B C Khanduri even as better transparency in governance and development were outlined for the state's progress.
As soon as the House assembled around 1100 hrs, Congress MLAs raised slogans. Due to repeated disruption by the Opposition, the Governor was forced to stop his speech midway.
State Assembly Speaker Harvansh Kapur had to adjourn the House following the pandemonium.
