UPA ''conspiring'' to ''trash'' evidences on Ram Sethu: Singhal
Coimbatore, Mar 3 (UNI) Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) International President Ashok Singhal today alleged that the UPA government at the Centre had conspired to ''trash'' various other historical evidences that validate the existence of 'Ram Sethu'.
Addressing a press conference here, he said the VHP would organise rallies on March 4 and 5 in all district head quarters to protest the Centre's decision to file an affidavit in the Supreme Court to get the stay order vacated.
He said, ''By stating that the 'Ram Sethu' is not man-made but a natural formation, the Centre has rejected the existence of the Lord Ram.'' He alleged that the Centre had launched a war against Hindus and the VHP would fight till last to prevent the destruction of the 'Ram Sethu' bridge.
''We are not against the shipping channel project, but the Centre can opt for an alternative alignment, which does not affect the historical 'Ram Sethu','' he said.
Mr Singhal alleged that the Congress, was playing with the sentiments of Hindus by ''distorting'' the facts relating to Ram Sethu.
