Unemployed status drives youth to end life

Madurai, Mar 3 (UNI) Dejected over being unemployed, a 25-year-old youth committed suicide by consuming pesticide at Thirupparankundram, near here, today.

Police said the youth, K Dharmaraj, hailing from Chennai, was upset over not being able to find a job and contacted his friend at Thirupparankundram. The friend invited Dharmaraj to Madurai for searching a suitable job. Dharmaraj came to Madurai a few days ago and stayed in his friend's house. However, he could not find a job.

Frustrated with his failure to land a job, he took the extreme step last night and was rushed to the Government Rajaji Hospital in the city, where he died today.
