TNCC Chief lauds Health Insurance Scheme for hut dwellers

Chennai, Mar 3 (UNI) TNCC President M Krishnasamy today hailed the free Health Insurance Scheme announced to benefit 5.5 crore hut dwellers in the country by Union Health Minister Anbumani Ramadoss.

In a statement here, the Congress leader, thanking the Minister, said the scheme would enable hut dwellers to avail free health services in all the hospitals, including private hospitals in the country, after showing the health insurance card.

Mr Krishnasamy also welcomed the 'Health Welfare Movement' announced by Mr Ramadoss to benefit more than 22 crore people in the country.

He said the Centre's decision to provide reservation for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students in medical seats in the all India quota would help them in a big way.

He thanked Prime Minister Manmohan Singh, Congress President Sonia Gandhi and Dr Ramadoss for extending the benefit to the students of oppressed classes.
