Uttar Pradesh: Sanghmitra Express loot busted, 3 caught
Lucknow, Mar 3: Police today apprehended three people in connection with the Patna-Bangalore 2296 Sanghmitra Express loot in Mirzapur district of Uttar Pradesh.
On March 1, masked burglars had robbed passengers of valuables aboard the Sanghmitra Express. Later, the accused had legged down the road at Divya Halt in Allahabad district.
Working on a tip-off, the Government Railway Police (GRP) nailed down Haidar Miya, Sonu Ansari and Daddan Yadav in Mirzapur.
The trio hailed from Buxar district of Bihar, police said.
Four pistols, 18 live cartridges and booty worth several lakhs of rupees were recovered from their possession, they added.
Meanwhile, they investigation were on.
