Rights of SCs, STs will be protected: Panel Chief

Vijayawada, Mar 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh State Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) Commission Chairman M Nagaraju today said the constitutional rights of the the SCs and STs would be protected.

Addressing a press conference here, he said the commission would take initiative to eradicate inequality and untouchbility, which still existed in Telangana and Rayalaseem areas of the state.

Through the strict implementation of GO 105 and GO 128, social inequality could be eradicated totally in the state, he claimed.

He charged management of some colleges in the city were showing dispartity to SC and ST students by alloting separate seats for them.

Dr Nagaraju also urged the State Government to implement both the GOs strictly to avoid these kind of incidents.
