Precious metals rise to new record highs

Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) Silver touched an all time high of Rs 24,515 while gold, too, rose to a new peak of Rs 12,755 in the opening session of trading in the bullion market today on better buying support and bullish global advice.

Gold and silver edged up by Rs 190 per ten gm and Rs 495 per kg respectively, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association said.

Following were the opening rates of spot silver and gold in the Bombay Bullion market today: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade : Rs 24,515 Gold (per 10 gm) Gold 99.5 purity standard mint : Rs 12,755 Gold 99.9 purity pure gold : Rs 12,810.
