Uttar Pradesh: Pick pocket gang held at Taj

Agra, Mar 3: Five people of a pick pocket gang were arrested at Taj Mahal premises here last evening, police said today.

Frequency of incidence like pick pocketing, loot and eve-teasing were on an increase at the historical monument. However, tight security was made in the wake of increasing criminal activities.

Three youth of Aligarh and two of Agra were held after CCTV cameras spotted them indulging in suspicious activities, Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) said.

Later, they were sent to Tajganj police station.

Recently, the issue to curb criminal activities on Taj premises was also raised in the Uttar Pradesh assembly.
