Mann stops wearing blue turban

Rupnagar, Mar 3 (UNI) Akali Dal (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has stopped wearing a blue turban, as the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) leaders led by Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal and his son Sukhbir Badal had ''tarnished the blue colour by their acts of omission and commission''.

While talking to mediapersons here today, Mr Mann said now a blue turban had become synonymous with sex scandals, corruption and other immoral activities in view of the involvement of SAD leaders in such activities.

Mr Mann said the blue turbaned people were being considered as scoundrels and the common man had a dislike for such people.

Therefore, he had decided not to wear blue turban, the ''official colour of the SAD''.
