Loan waiver programme not a burden: APCOB President

Tirupati, Mar 3 (UNI) The Centre's farm loan waiver programme will not affect the financial position of the cooperative banks in the state, Andhra Pradesh State Cooperative Bank (APCOB) President Vasanta Nageswara Rao said today.

Talking to newspersons after inaugurating the bank's fifth ATM centre here, he said the Centre's decision would benefit farmers in the state to an extent of Rs 5,700 crore.

During this financial year, the bank had disbursed loan amount of Rs 2,160 crore in Khariff season, he said, adding that the bank alone had disbursed 33 per cent farm loans against 67 per cent by the all allied banks in the state.
