Incentives to AP farmers selling produce in APMCs
Hyderabad, Mar 3 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said his Government was contemplating providing incentive or bonus to farmers who sell their produce at agricultural marketing committees, trading centres or factories.
He said the State Government had provided Rs 3,000 crore in the budget to provide special incentives and subsidies to peasants, according to an official release here.
Dr Reddy said the Government wanted to encourage the farmers who produced more of scarcity crops in the State.
He said the Government was committed to the welfare of the backward classes and earmarked Rs 5,800 crore in the budget for the construction of houses, which would help 60 per cent of the BCS in the State.
He said the Govenrment had also provided loans at the rate of three per cent to the BCs, besides distributing pensions and scholarships to BC students.
