HUJI leader killed in Pak: IB Source
Hyderabad, Mar 3 (UNI) Harkat Ul Jihadi Islami (HUJI) Commander Shahed alias Bilal, the suspected mastermind behind the May 18 Mecca Masjid Blasts and August 25 Twin Blasts in the city which claimed more than 50 lives and left over 100 injured, was killed in Pakistan, an Intelligence Bureau (IB) official said today.
He said the IB received information about his death in neighbouring Pakistan last year.
However, the IB could not confirm the death until it received official information from it's counterparts.
''We have no officials there from our side to confirm the death of the terrorist who was one of the most wanted in the country,'' he said.
HUJI Leader Shahed, who hailed from the city, was spearheading terror activities from Bangladesh. He recruited youth from different parts of the country.
The recent blasts in UP, Maharashtra and other States was the handiwork of HUJI terrorists who had undergone training at its hideouts in Bangladesh.
The official said the leaders of the terrorist organisations were sending messages to Dubai from Pakistan and recruiting youth in Saudi Arabia.
Those recruited were being sent to Bangladesh from where they spread out to complete their assignments.
