Govt official gets chargesheet from court

Puducherry, Mar 3 (UNI) Puducherry Public Works Department(PWD) Chief Engineer, who was removed from the post for amassing wealth disproportionate to his known sources of income, today appeared before the court and collected the CBI chargesheet against him.

The chargesheet, running into over 2,000 pages, was handed over to Mr C Anandane by the CBI SI, Annadurai, in front of Chief Judge D Krishna Raja.

The case was posted for hearing on March 25.

Following the demand from different quarters for his suspension mounted, the territorial administration removed Mr Anandane from the post and kept him in waiting-list.
