Court adjourns hearing in Sanjay-Manyata wedding till Mar 10
Mumbai, Mar 3 (UNI) A local court today adjourned till March 10, the hearing on a petition filed by Mehraj Sheikh, ex-husband of small time Hindi actress Manyata, who recently married Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt, challenging their marriage as per Muslim Personal Law.
The Metropolitan Magistrate Court at Bandra adjourned the matter till March 10, as Sheikh, who is in jail in an extortion case, was not produced before the court by police.
Sheikh has challenged the Sanjay-Manyata marriage on the grounds that they have violated norms of Muslim Marriage act. In his application, he claimed that Manyata, whose real name is Dilnawaz Shaikh, is his wife and they were husband and wife as per the Muslim laws. They also have a two-and-a-half-year old son, who lives with Manyata's mother in Hyderabad.
