BSP oppose early polls

Bangalore, Mar 3 (UNI) The State Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) will oppose a 'hurried' Assembly elections in Karnataka, without rectifying the faulty electoral rolls list, party's National General Secretary P G R Sindhia informed here today.

Speaking to UNI, he said a party delegation would meet Chief Election Commissioner N Gopalaswamy and submit a memorandum in this regard.

Mr Sindhia, who was also a member of the Delimitation Committee, headed by Justice Kuldip Singh, felt that the EC should need a minimum of four to six months to complete the process of redefining the Assembly as well as Lok Sabha seats.

Criticising BJP leaders, who were demanding CEC to hold immediate elections he said ''fair and free elections could not be held with the present electoral rolls. The task of completing the delimitation process should not be done in a hasty manner.'' UNI MV RS RL DB2122
