MP BJP ''tampering'' with voters list: Pachouri

Ujjain, MP, Mar 2 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Congress President and Union Minister of state for Personnel Suresh Pachouri has alleged that the BJP government in the state was ''tampering'' with voters list with an objective of ''committing irregularities'' in the Assembly election later this year.

''Apart from maintaining a strong hold on polling booths, close vigil has to be kept on voter's list. The BJP government has already removed thousands of names from the voters list,'' Mr Pachouri said addressing party workers here yesterday.

Mr Pachouri, who visited this temple town for the first time after being appointed the state party president, claimed the BJP knew that it could not gain victory against the Congress in the Assembly poll. So, it had started ''tampering'' with the voters list.

Alleging that the four-year-long tenure of the BJP government was mired with rampant corruption, he said corruption was being exposed wherever construction work was taking place, although most contractors belonged to the BJP.

He claimed that the government was not providing electricity to rural areas as per its promise and people in villages were getting only two to four hour power supply.
