Journalist arrested for alleged links with naxals
Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh, Mar 2 (UNI) A journalist has been arrested for his alleged links with Naxals in Bijapur district of Chhattisgarh, police said today.
Superintendent of Police Ankit Garg said freelance journalist Sai Reddy was arrested under the Chhattisgarh Special Public Security Act yesterday, after Rambabu, a Naxal who was arrested last month, revealed that Reddy had connections with him.
Reddy had been associated with two Hindi dailies.
Sources close to him, however, denied that Reddy had any connection with the Naxals, who had allegedly set his home on fire two years back.
They said Rambabu had claimed that Naxals used to take ration from the shop of Reddy's wife. However, this was not sufficient cause for arrest.
