Four dacoits arrested from near graveyard in Bhopal

Bhopal, Mar 2 (UNI) Four people, who were planning to loot a petrol pump, were arrested from near a graveyard in the state capital, police said today.

''On a tip-off, the foursome were cordoned off near a graveyard close to a railway crossing near Push apartment and arrested.

However, one of their accomplice, Montu, threw away his knife and fled,'' Superintendent of Police Jaideep Prasad told newspersons.

The quartet were wanted in connection with various cases like beating up and attempt to murder, police said. A 12-bore and a 315-bore countrymade guns, two pistols and cartridges were also seized from them.

The dacoits were hatching a conspiracy of looting Rs 2 lakh from Saleem Baig, the cashier of the petrol pump.

Vikram alias Vikki was the kingpin of the gang with several cases registered against him. Other arrested included Kamlesh alias Kamma, Manish Rande alias Golu and Unesh Baig.

Manish and Unesh had taken 'supari' to kill a person and had fired upon him in Sehore two days back but their motive failed.

They accepted incidents of thefts during preliminary interrogation.
