Bhagwant Mann to spice up Badal-IX vs Bhattal-IX cricket match

Chandigarh, Mar 2 (UNI) The stage is all set for renowned comedian and actor Bhagwant Mann to make a debut in the arena of cricket commentary in the Badal-IX versus Bhattal-IX twenty-20 cricket match at the PCA stadium here on March 13.

Mann will provide the details alongside cricketer-turned-MP and commentator Navjot Singh Sidhu as bigwigs of Punjab politics and legislators clash in a unique charity cricketing encounter for welfare of disabled being organized by Para Olympic Committee of Punjab for the first time ever.

Bhagwant Mann is famous for commenting on politicians but in this match he will make a live comment in a live match which is the most exciting thing in this event.

Though Mann has had his earlier stints as comedian-cum-commentator on the television very often but this time he would have the rare privilege to comment live upon the politicians both of the SAD-BJP and the opposition Congress donning cricketing kits and at their sporting best.

The rare encounter of political bigwigs is being tipped as the event of the year as for the first time the politicians of Punjab would try to outdo each other by their sporting skills rather than their political rhetoric and mudslinging.

Mann is expected to add much more humor, wit and spontaneity to the 20-20 encounter between the two teams at the floodlit PCA stadium. Sidhu will be in the commentory box with Mann instead of taking the fields alongside his SAD-BJP colleagues.

A visibly excited Mann said here today that he is looking forward to this rarest of rare cricketing encounter between Badal XI and Bhattal XI that will give him enough chance to throw a volley of political satire and comic element to the otherwise stressed out scene of Punjab politics.

Mann informed that while bigwigs like SAD President Sukhbir Singh Badal, Bikramjit Singh Majithia and Parminder Dhindsa would be exciting to comment upon just as the Congress' team with legislators like Rana Sodhi, Kewal Dhillon, Sukhpal Khaira, Harmohinder Jassi , Charanjit Channy would be an equal match for the star studded event which is likely to see a pulsating cultural show featuring Pammi Bai.

The break during the match will see a standalone comical presentation by Bhagwant Mann with Jaspal Bhatti and Navjot Singh Sidhu.

Mann further said that his skills in comical commentary would see an ultimate climax during the match in front of non playing captains of both teams, Chief Minister Prakash Singh Badal and state Congress President Mrs Rajinder Kaur Bhattal, who will view the match with hundreds of other politicians and families from all political quarters. A few Bollywood personalities are also likely to be a part of the twenty-twenty encounter which will have a free entry for general public, Mann informed.
