Wheat procurement begins in MP

Bhopal, Mar 1: Procurement of wheat today started in Madhya Pradesh at the Minimum Support Price (MSP)of Rs 1000 per quintal announced by the Union Government besides a bonus of Rs 100 declared by the state government, official sources said.

State Civil Supplies Corporation was made the nodal agency for wheat procurement through 926 cooperative societies and directly at 10 'Mandis', the sources added. A fair average quality wheat would be procured and payment to be made through cheque, they said.
