Two arrested in Jogeshwari murder case
Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) City police today arrested two persons for allegedly murdering an 18-year-old youth at Jogeshwari in western suburb on February 28.
The deceased, Shabaj Ali Musraf Ali Shaikh, was allegedly stabbed by unidentified persons at Goni Nagar in Jogeshwari on February 28, police said.
Shaikh's maternal uncle, Mohammed Ali Ambdul Rehman Sheikh, who was detained by the police for questioning, revealed that Shaikh had accused two persons -- Amin and Sharfu -- for the crime before his death.
Acting on the information, police picked up Amin (19) and Sharfu alias Safuruddin Moiuddin Sheikh (21) from Prem Nagar Megwadi.
During the interrogation, the duo admitted that they had brutally assaulted Shaikh.
Both the accused were produced in the Metropolitan Magistrate's court, which remanded them to police custody till March 4, sources said.
