Malayalam film actor starts hunger strike for a cause

Thrissur Mar 1(UNI) Noted Malayalam film actor, Kalabhavan Mani started a 24-hour hunger strike at Chalakudy today.

The strike was in support of the on-going agitation by the action council to protest against the closure of municipal junction for the construction of a flyover in the National Highway.

Football players, M J Sabu and P M Francis, were also fasting with Mani.

The former Indian soccer captains I M Vijayan, Jo Paul Anchery and film actor Kalabhavan Jaffer, were among others, who spoke on the occasion.

AIDS Centre Director, Jyan Pattath staged satyagraha by lying in a coffin in support of the agitation.
