Lt Gen JP Singh takes over as GOC Kharga Corps

Ambala, Mar 1 (UNI) Lt Gen JP Singh took over as General Officer Commanding Kharga Corps at Ambala Cantonment today.

After assuming charge, he paid tribute to the martyrs at Vijay Smarak. He met senior officers of the Corps and interacted with them. Commissioned into Armoured Corps in June 1971, he saw action on the Western front in the Fazilka Sector during the 1971 operations.

The General has held a number of commands, instructional and staff appointments, including the proud privilege of heading the Indian Training Team in Zambia from 1996-98. His tour of duty in Lusaka also saw him performing the role of Chief Advisor to Zambian Army.
