Criminal slain by buqa-clad youths

Betul, MP, Mar 1 (UNI) A notorious criminal was today gunned down by two burqa-clad assailants in broad daylight at civil lines area in this district, police said today.

Chichu Pandey had gone to a bank. He was fired upon by Jittu Tawade and Pooran Yadav while he was coming out of the bank. Chichu was seriously injured and rushed to hospital where he was declared dead.

Jittu and Pooran later surrendered before police. Two revolvers were seized from them. A case was registered against five persons on the basis of a complaint by Chichu's friend Jaideo.

The murder was carried out due to old enmity. Chichu, who was wanted in connection 21 cases including murder and attempt to murder cases, had an argument with the accused a few days back. He had earlier been externed due to criminal activities.
