Coordination for public interest issues needed: Pawar
Aurangabad, Maharashtra, Mar 1 (UNI) Public representatives and officials concerned should work in coordination for public interest, Union Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said today.
Mr Pawar was addressing a two-day workshop, organised by the Ministry of Rural Development for newly elected Samiti Members from Aurangabad and Nashik divisions.
Mr Pawar advised the Samiti Members not to indulge in activities that would hamper the development projects. He also advised them to work in coordination for the betterment of public.
Rural Development Minister Vijaysinh Mohite Patil presided.
Speaking about the loan waiver for marginal and small farmers, Mr Patil said around four crore farmers in the country would be benefited by complete loan waiver and this scheme would help them become self-sufficient and self-reliant. It would also help them pay more attention to increase their productivity, he added.
Mr Patil said it was due to the efforts made by Mr Pawar that the loan waiver has become a reality.
Energy Minister Dilip Walse Patil, Minister of State for Urban Development Rajesh Tope and the Rural Development Secretary D K Jain were also present on the occasion.
