Budget not people-friendly but poll-friendly: Naqvi

New Delhi, Feb 29 (UNI) BJP Vice President Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi today said that the budget proposals of Finance Minister P Chidambaram were not a people-friendly exercise but poll-friendly.

Talking to reporters after the presentation of the Budget 2008-09 in the Lok Sabha, Mr Naqvi said the proposals give a clear indication that the polls were around the corner and Mr Chidambaram had converted the budget proposals to the election manifesto of the UPA coalition. People very well know that these promises will never be implemented like their poll promises in the past, Mr Naqvi said.
