Budget impact in Mumbai results in reduction in CNG prices

Mumbai, Mar 1 (UNI) The Mahanagar Gas Limited (MLG) today announced reduction in prices of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) with immediate effect.

The decision was taken in order to pass on its customers, the benefit accruing due to lowering of excise duty on CNG from 16 per cent to 14 per cent as per the Union Budget 2008-09 presented in Parliament yesterday, a company release said.

The reduction in CNG prices will benefit 1.8 lakh CNG users, including over 1.25 lakh autorikshaws and taxis across the city, Thane, Mira Road and Navi Mumbai.

The price of CNG in the metropolis has been reduced from Rs 22.06 per Kilogram to Rs 21.70, the release added.
