Asst engineer held for accepting bribe
Bangalore, Mar 1 (UNI) Lokayukta police today arrested a BDA assistant engineer on charges of demanding and accepting bribe for an official favour.
A press release here said S R Shridhar had demanded Rs one lakh from a complainant Wazid Pasha of Bannerghatta, in connection with a litigation with BDA.
The engineer had threatened to demolish a building if he failed to pay the bribe.
The police caught him redhanded while accepting the first instalment of the bribe of Rs 50,000, the release said.
