ASI gets lifer in murder case

Hajipur, Mar 01(UNI) A local sessions court yesterday awarded life term to an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI) in a murder case .

Additional district and sessions judge Prem Chandra Gupta found Ramprit Rajak, an ASI of GRP, posted at Muzaffarpur guilty of killing a vendor and awarded him life imprisonment.

According to the charges, the vendor, Salim Ansari was thrown out of a running train near Hajipur junction by the ASI on May 13, 2005, when he refused to pay the money demanded by the police official.
