AI to start New Delhi-Kerala direct flight
Thiruvananthapuram, Mar 1 (UNI) Air India will start a direct flight from New Delhi to Kerala, connecting Kochi and Thiruvananthapuram, by the month end, Chairman and Managing Director V Thulasidas said today.
Speaking at a function in connection with the launching of civil works of Air India's Aircraft Engineering Maintenance Base here, Mr Thulasidas said the new flight would take off from here in the morning to New Delhi via Kochi.
Similarly, an evening flight would be operated from here to Mumbai via Kochi. This would offer connectivity to several international flights originating from Mumbai.
Thiruvananthapuram had been made as an operating base for the Air India Express. ''Our idea is to make Thiruvananthapuram as our full service carrier operating base. We have invited applications from pilots who wish to be stationed here, the response is encouraging,'' he added.
